David Yang Joins Syklo as Technical Liaison Officer for the Asian Market

Mr. Jisung (David) Yang brings over 30 years of experience in polymer blending, compounding, and polymer processing development to Syklo. Over his professional career Mr. Yang has worked in both research institutes and field operations. His arrival at Syklo is no coincidence – Mr. Yang has a long-standing relationship with Syklo’s Head of Business, Biocomposites, Markku Nikkilä, and Key Account Manager, Jouni Hillberg.

In his previous roles within the industry, Mr. Yang was responsible for technical development support, market exploration, and customer service – responsibilities that closely align with his new role at Syklo.

Strong understanding of the Asian business environment

As a Technical Liaison Officer for the Asian region, Mr. Yang will primarily collaborate with the sales and product development teams at headquarters to develop markets, identify potential customers, and provide technical product support for Syklo’s clients. Mr. Yang’s expertise has always transcended borders. He approaches challenges with a global mindset, while possessing a unique ability to understand the Asian business environment through that lens.

“I believe I can help build strategies tailored to the Asian market by understanding local companies and maintaining constant communication with headquarters.”

The Asian market presents distinct cultural and corporate characteristics compared to other regions. Mr. Yang emphasises the importance of quickly understanding and adapting to these differences. He believes companies must localise their sales and product strategies while maintaining alignment with global standards. Success, he says, hinges on accurately understanding the market, identifying customer needs, and executing strategies to meet those demands.

“In the Asian market, Syklo must be flexible and agile in responding to customer needs. Success will depend on consistent product quality and the ability to provide prompt quality assurance support. I believe this is actually one of Syklo’s strengths.”

Collaboration across continents

Mr. Yang holds a positive view of Finland, admiring both individuals and companies for their transparency and growth potential—one of the key motivations that drives him daily. But work isn’t everything. Outside of work, Mr. Yang enjoys fitness training, fishing, and golf.
