Hyvinkää circular economy hub
Where others see waste, we see tomorrow’s material.
Syklo’s circular economy hub in Hyvinkää is Finland’s most advanced facility for plastic recycling and biocomposite manufacturing. We also receive waste materials such as clean wood and demolition wood, paper and cardboard, mixed rigid plastics and mixed plastic films, for further processing.
Finland’s largest plastic recycling plant and biocomposite plant are opening at the hub in 2026, combining Sykloplast recycled plastic pellet production and Syklocomp biocomposite manufacturing under one roof. Together, these create a complete solution for companies looking to replace virgin plastics and glass-fibre reinforced materials.
We build this together with our partners, with determination and with results.
SYKLO’S NEW CIRCULAR ECONOMY HUB IN FINLAND
Syklo’s circular economy hub in Hyvinkää is the largest of its kind in Finland, processing up to 50,000 tons of plastic annually. It combines plastics recycling and biocomposite manufacturing, enabling significant environmental and economic benefits.
The hub improves recycling rate in Finland by up to 50% and reduce CO₂ emissions by as much as 100,000 tons (CO₂eq) annually. We combine advanced sorting technologies and closed water circuits to ensure that microplastics do not end up in water systems.
Our facilities produce Sykloplast recycled plastic pellets and Syklocomp biocomposite – refined, optimised, future-proof. Value reborn.

HYVINKÄÄ CIRCULAR ECONOMY HUB
The operations of the Hyvinkää circular economy hub include the reception and further processing of waste materials together with its partners in the region.
Hyvinkää circular economy hub location:
Kerkkolankatu 40, 05800 Hyvinkää.
Opening hours:
Mon–Fri 7 am–4 pm
ACCEPTED MATERIALS AT HYVINKÄÄ
- Clean wood and demolition wood
- Paper and cardboard
- Mixed rigid plastics
- Mixed plastic films
- Please note that we do not accept hazardous waste, such as treated wood
At our Hyvinkää location, we use the mScales weighing system, which enables regular customers to weigh their loads independently using a mobile device. For customers who visit less frequently, our staff will continue to handle the weighing of loads.
FINLAND’S LARGEST PLASTIC RECYCLING PLANT
With a capacity of 50,000 tonnes annually, the plant will increase Finland’s plastic recycling capacity by up to 50 percent. Based on post-consumer mixed rigid and film plastics, the facility uses patented BOSS sorting technology to separate plastics with very small density differences, including black plastics previously considered unrecyclable.
STATE-OF-THE-ART BIOCOMPOSITE PLANT
With a capacity of 8,000 tonnes annually, the plant will produce high-performance biocomposites for demanding industrial applications. Using Syklo’s patented technology, the facility combines plastic polymers and fibre-based materials to create innovative materials with excellent technical properties and reduced environmental impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL PERMIT FOR THE HYVINKÄÄ CIRCULAR ECONOMY HUB
Syklo, a leading circular economy company, has been granted an environmental permit for its planned mechanical plastic recycling and biocomposite production plant in Hyvinkää. Issued by the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland, the permit will accelerate Syklo’s plans to expand its biocomposite production line at the site. For several years, Syklo has successfully tested its biocomposite technology at a patented pilot plant.
