Syklo’s New Circular Economy Hub in Finland
Syklo’s new circular economy hub in Hyvinkää is the largest of its kind in Finland, processing up to 50,000 tons of plastic annually. It combines plastics recycling and biocomposite manufacturing, enabling significant environmental and economic benefits.
The Hyvinkää circular economy hub can improve recycling rates by up to 50% and reduce CO₂ emissions by as much as 160,000 tons (CO2eq) annually, if the plastic recycled at the facility is not incinerated. We combine advanced sorting technologies and closed water circuits to ensure that microplastics do not end up in water systems.
Our facilities produce premium Sykloplast recycled plastic pellets, and Syklocomp biocomposite that adhere to the highest performance standards in technical manufacturing.

SYKLOPLAST –
RECYCLED PLASTIC PELLETS
Sykloplast offers market-leading mechanical properties and excellent processability for post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics
Our advanced technology ensures consistent quality, making it suitable even for applications where recycled materials were previously not an option.
We utilise a unique plastic sorting technology developed by the Scottish recycling company Impact Recycling. The process incorporates two patented technologies, enabling the separation of different plastic types based on minimal density differences.
Density-based differentiation allows for the recycling of previously challenging black plastics. At the same time, this technology significantly enhances the quality of the final product.

BIOCOMPOSITE
Syklocomp offers an environmentally friendly alternative to reinforcing plastics.
Syklocomp combines recycled plastics and natural fibres to produce strong, lightweight materials that significantly reduce the carbon footprint of plastics.
Our patented wet-web technology ensures superior mechanical properties, while 3D enhances strength and shorter cooling time enables faster production cycles. Syklocomp can be applied as a reinforcement for plastics across various sectors, including packaging, electronics, and transportation.
Syklo provides PP and PE masterbatch grades as well as customised solutions for specific industry needs. Syklocomp can use both PCR plastics and recycled fibres as raw materials.
