Recycling bitumen or roofing felt

We accept bitumen waste, that is, roofing felt, from demolition, renovation, and construction companies and waste management companies throughout Finland. The bitumen waste is delivered to our sorting plant in Oulu, from where it continues its journey to our partner Revisol for material recovery and further processing.

WHY RECYCLE BITUMEN?

Bitumen is often utilised for energy recovery due to its limited recycling options.

Recycling bitumen into raw materials significantly lowers carbon dioxide emissions, as new bitumen is made from crude oil. Recycled bitumen is used to make asphalt, for example.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR RECYCLING BITUMEN FELT

WHAT?

No wood should be attached to the roofing felt. Small amounts of other attached construction materials are accepted. Small fasteners (nails, screws) do not impede the recycling process.

HOW?

We recommend delivering the roofing felt in separate loads, such as in individual skips.
