Syklo Expands in Hyvinkää: Circular Economy Investments Create New Jobs

The start-up of the plastic recycling plant and the biocomposite factory is already having a tangible impact in the form of new jobs. The first production shift has now been assembled, and recruitment will continue in phases in the near future.

Operations at Syklo’s plastic recycling plant in Hyvinkää have begun with a strong team. The first production shift is almost fully recruited: six additional operators are still needed for the extrusion department, and they will start in their roles during the summer. Maintenance professionals have been involved in building the operations since last year. During the spring and early summer, the team will grow further as new operators are recruited for final product manufacturing.

At the same time, Syklo is expanding more broadly across the organization. In March and April, approximately 30 new Syklo employees will start in various roles.

“We are building a significant entity in Hyvinkää that combines modern industry, the circular economy and sustainable growth. Recruitment is a central part of this investment for us,” says Mikko Kokkonen, Head of Operations at Syklo.

Focus Already on Future Production Shifts

Syklo aims to grow its operations in Hyvinkää in a structured and planned manner. The next major step will be the launch of the second production shift in early 2027, with recruitment for that shift starting in the autumn. Each production shift employs a wide range of professionals from different fields, including operators, logistics, maintenance, quality assurance and supervisory roles.

Looking further ahead, operations will continue to expand, and plans also include launching a third production shift at a later stage. This will further strengthen Syklo’s position as a significant employer in the Hyvinkää region. Currently, Syklo employs around 30 people in Hyvinkää, and the number of employees will increase as investments progress.

Recruitment Also for the Biocomposite Factory

Alongside the plastic recycling plant, Syklo is starting operations at its biocomposite factory in Hyvinkää. New professionals will be recruited for the factory during the spring, with work starting in the summer, and additional recruitments are planned for the autumn.

Overall, Syklo offers diverse career opportunities in production, maintenance, logistics, expert roles and supervisory positions.

Cooperation Plans with Hyria

Syklo is planning cooperation with Hyria, a multidisciplinary vocational education and training institution operating in Hyvinkää and Riihimäki. The aim of the cooperation is to support Syklo’s growth and ensure the availability of skilled workforce for the Hyvinkää facilities also in the future.

Targeted training solutions implemented together with Hyria would particularly support skills needs in production and industrial roles and would be part of Syklo’s long-term commitment to local employment and skills development.

Employer Brand Built with a Long-Term Approach

In addition to recruitment, Syklo invests strongly in building its employer brand. A modern marketing look, active presence at recruitment events and open, proactive communication have, according to job applicants, created an image of the Syklo Group as a responsible, growing and future-oriented industrial operator. Syklo’s job opportunities have attracted strong interest, and a large number of applications have been received.

“We want Syklo to be known as a workplace where people do meaningful work in the circular economy and where employees have the opportunity to grow as professionals alongside our projects,” Kokkonen concludes.
